THREE AI TOOLS WORTH TESTING THIS WEEKEND

Why are we excited for the weekend? Because it's play time. And we have so many new toys to play with.

AI is shifting from ‘chatbot’ to ‘engine of productivity’ - and from 'prompts' to 'workflows'. Which means there's a lot to run experiments on right now.

Here are the three tools we think you'd enjoy testing this weekend...

1. Nano Banana Pro:

Google’s new image model, built into Gemini 3, is designed for exactitude. It accepts up to 14 reference images and maintains consistency across five distinct characters.

But the killer feature is the way it 'grounds' the images. Ask for a solar panel diagram and it pulls real specifications from search to label the components correctly. Some examples are included in this post. It features the same woman in three different scenarios. They're basic. But you get the idea.

2. NotebookLM:

The chat interface is evolving into a production house. Google added infographic and slide deck generation last week. You upload your raw sources - PDFs, transcripts, messy notes - and it structures them into a visual presentation. While the rollout has been volatile (with a partial rollback due to demand), the direction of travel is undeniable. It turns research into assets without the PowerPoint paralysis.

3. Claude Skills:

Anthropic has quietly changed the architecture of agency. Launched in October, ‘Skills’ allow you to create modular folders of instructions and scripts that Claude accesses dynamically.

Instead of pasting a 50-line prompt every time you need to analyse a spreadsheet, you build the skill once. Claude invokes it automatically when the task demands it. It is the difference between hiring a freelancer and training an employee. This post was written using one.

Any of these are worthy of your time this weekend. We promise the rewards outstrip the efforts and you'll enjoy it as well.

We'd love to see the results.
