SUCCESS STARTS WITH THE FLYWHEEL

Every organisation that succeeds with AI builds a flywheel.

Whether it is called that or not, small wins generate confidence; confidence enables bigger projects; the additional complexity compounds capabilities - and momentum builds. Each cycle is more effective than the last.

The difficulty is getting flywheels started. Which, if we look through that particular lens, is a something we do particularly well at Brightbeam. So we'd like to share four key insights.

1. If you start with strategy, validate the ideas via 'Very Fast Prototypes' - which prove or challenge your plans within days.

2. If you go directly for a build, begin with the use case with the highest impact, lowest cost and least risk, aiming for in-year ROI above 100%.

3. Always train people to use what's built - technology is nothing without adoption. So change management and culture also play key roles.

4. Plan for true innovation when existing digital intelligence won't solve the problem. But it's probably best not to start by building the truly new.

Why are we telling you this? Because the implementation data is straightforward: We expect 95%+ success rates for validated concepts, and many first projects deliver 7x to 30x ROI.

If you're in life sciences, you might also be interested in the extended principles in the GenAI playbook - which we authored and published alongside BioPharmaChem Ireland and Connected Health Skillnet.
